With the end of the Crucible’s fourth season fast approaching, it’s only natural that many have begun to wonder what’s going to their progress towards the most highly sought after Crucible rewards: Luna’s Howl and Not Forgotten. The quest lines for both of these weapons require many arduous hours of time in the Crucible, so the prospect of seeing all that work potentially go to waste is definitely scary. Fortunately, Bungie is aware of players’ concerns and has addressed the issue in this week’s “This Week at Bungie.

For the most part, players still working on acquiring these weapons don’t have to worry about losing all their hard work. With one key exception, all quest steps completed before November 27 will be retained going into season 5. Credit for reaching the necessary Valor and Glory ranks will also be retained, but actual progress will be lost once everything is reset for the next season. This means that the steps requiring guardians to reset their Crucible rank so many times in a season will lose their progress. So for those sitting at three or four rank resets out of five, the clock is ticking. Still, losing these steps wouldn’t be the worst thing to happen. It’s just a matter of spending time in the Crucible and taking full advantage of the next double or triple valor weekend. It’ll be tedious to be sure, but hardly difficult.

Now, Bungie did not specifically mention Redrix’s Broadsword, so there’s still a chance that the transition from season 4 to season five could spell disaster for those still working their way towards it. However, it’s unlikely that Bungie would go out of their way to treat that weapon differently from the other two. So, aside from losing Valor reset progress, guardians chasing the gun should be able to rest assured that their efforts won’t be erased. So, go on then. Get back into the fight Guardian. The rewards for your valor and glory await!

Destiny 2: Forsaken is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
