Deus Ex: Mankind Divided had its second DLC launch today, which is called A Criminal Past. The DLC takes place inside of a prison for augmented humans, and is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. It can be purchased individually for $11.99, or as part of the game’s $29.99 season pass.

As for what the DLC is all about, “Posing as a convicted criminal, Jensen is transferred deep into a hostile, high-security prison for augmented felons, with his mission being to track down a fellow undercover agent who has gone dark. To achieve his goal, Jensen will need to confront a darker side to his role before the day is done.”

Seeing as Jensen will be without most of his tools and abilities, stealth is going to be a big focus of this DLC. A launch trailer showing off this content in action was also released, which you can check out at the bottom of this post.

It was recently announced that the game’s Breach mode has been made into a free-to-play game that is playable on Steam, which is certainly an interesting move on Square Enix’s part. Breach mode was essentially taken from a relatively minor part of the main game and then turned into its own arcade mode, which is decent enough, but I’m not sure it’s something that I would ever seek out on its own.

The release of A Criminal Past marks the end of the story DLC releases for the game, with the first one being called System Rift that launched last year. That DLC had Jensen teaming up with his former colleague Frank Pritchard, while also finally meeting Breach mode’s ShadowChild in person. The story itself involves the infiltration of the Palisade Bank Corporation’s Blade facility, and the journey also has a new area of the city to explore and new characters to meet.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
