Everybody’s Golf Debuts at Number 1 in Japan

Everybody’s Golf for PS4 was the best selling game in Japan during the past week, as Media Create reveals. This is an improvement over its debut in the United Kingdom, where it reached number 6 in the All Formats chart. As we explained in our review, the latest entry in the veteran golf series manages to appeal to newcomers thanks to its online features, while also satisfying longtime fans through its single-player mode.

Sony’s game was only one of the multiple new releases of this past week, although it stood out as the one to have by far the best performance. Atlus’ Etrian Mystery Dungeon 2 for 3DS debuted at number 3, but sold less than half of its predecessor in its first week. Koei Tecmo’s Nights of Azure 2: Bride of the New Moon released for PS4, PSVita, and Nintendo Switch, with none of them achieving good sales, although PS4 was by far the most popular version.

Resident Evil Revelations for PS4 entered the charts at number 10, a somewhat decent entry for a game that has been ported to new consoles again and again since its original 2012 release, and as we noted in our PS4 review, it’s only recommended for people who have already played most of the other superior entries.

On the hardware list, Nintendo Switch sits comfortably at number 1 after having a very soft drop from last week’s numbers, while PS4 and 3DS slightly improve their sales.
