Publisher 2K Games today announced that the new first-person-shooter title Evolve will be released worldwide on October 21st, and will be available for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC.

For those who choose to pre-order, participating retailers will be offering The Monster Expansion Pack as an incentive. The pack includes the Savage Goliath Skin and access to a second monster character sometime after launch.

Developed by Turtle Rock Studios, Evolve combines both competitive and cooperative gameplay as players each take control of one of four unique hunters, with a fifth player assuming the role of the monstrous Goliath. Each hunter has distinct abilities and skillsets and players will have to work together in order to survive their fearsome encounters with the Goliath. Multiplayer matches take place over wide open areas, with the bestial Goliath able to take advantage of the environment and quickly turn the table  on it’s assailants.

Turtle Rock Studios are no strangers to cooperative games, having worked on both the Left 4 Dead and Counter-Strike franchises for Valve. It will be interesting to see what new elements they bring to the table as we see more of Evolve at E3 in June and in the months leading up to the game’s release.
