Far Cry 5 Shows Joseph Seed’s Bloody Rise to Power in New Trailer

Ubisoft has shared a new trailer of Far Cry 5 focused on the story of the game, which revolves around the rising power of a religious cult in the rural areas of Montana. The main figure behind this group is Joseph Seed, a man who believes God has given him a special gift that no one can take away, and is seeking to ‘save’ as many souls as he can, whether they want it or not.

Seed really doesn’t shy away from drawing delusional comparisons between him and Jesus Christ, including his work healing people or his group of apostles, but things quickly take a darker turn. Apparently Seed gets hallucinations involving a young woman who reaffirms his radical ideals, and we see his group taking extreme measures against anyone they deem unworthy or rejects their power.

But as the Eden’s Gate grows more powerful, so does the resistance group in the area, which is where the main hero makes his entrance, as a member of that group. It all comes down to an all-out conflict in which neither side shows mercy. The video also shows very explicitly how there are no limits in the methods of killing that users can find around the region.

Additionally, the company has also given more details today on the DLC that will be released later this year, including the new Far Cry 3 Classic Edition for PS4 and Xbox One.

Far Cry 5 launches for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on March 27. Watch the new trailer below.
