Friday the 13th is one of the most well known horror franchise, along with the horror icon Jason Voorhees, but the series has rarely made the transition to the world of video games. The NES has a rather infamous game and Jason himself was a guest DLC character in Mortal Kombat X, but now Gun Media’s Friday the 13th: the Game is almost here.

Friday the 13th: The Game was first teased a good while ago, and it wasn’t until more recently that we finally got gameplay footage that showed us able to play as both Jason and the counselors in the game. We’ve known that the game was going to be very violent, but the game’s latest trailer focuses exclusively on that.

Coming out of PAX West with only about a month until the game is supposed to be releasing, the latest trailer for Friday the 13th: The Game focuses on the gory deaths that Jason will be dishing out throughout the game, which almost look like they would have been fatalities taken from his appearance in Mortal Kombat X.

These murders range from death by machete, pitchfork, axe, and even by fireplace. If this latest trailer is any indication, we should be in for a solid representation of the level of violence in the movie, but we’ll have to see just how well that translates into an actual game.

Friday the 13th: The Game is supposed to arrive sometime in October for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
