Blizzard has been teasing that a new hero would be coming to Overwatch for a while now, though now they have officially revealed who she is. Her name is Ana and she serves as as support character, as she can deal damage to enemies and heal allies from afar.
Her weapon of choice is the Biotic Rifle, which fires long-range darts that will either heal your allies or deal damage to your enemies. She can also fire a Sleep Dart, which knocks enemies out. Close-quarters combat has her using the Biotic Grenade, which similarly heals or deals damage in a small area of effect.
However, her ultimate ability is called the Nano Boost, which provides several stat boosts to allies in the form of improved damage, movement speed and damage resistance. You can check Ana out in action at the bottom of this post.
Ana is described as a “battle-scarred veteran who supports her teammates from a distance using a unique and highly specialized collection of weapons.” She is also the mother of current Overwatch hero Pharah, and appears to have a rivalry with the other sniper in the game named Widowmaker.
