The latest event for Pokémon Sun and Moon is for a shiny version of the legendary Pokémon Tapu Koko. GameSpot states that due to the game’s algorithms for encountering wild Pokémon, it is impossible to find a shiny Tapu Koko in the wild, making this the first time trainers can get a shiny Tapu Koko legitimately.

To obtain this shiny, legendary Pokémon, you will need to select “Mystery Gift” from your Sun or Moon main menu instead of “Continue.” Once in Mystery Gift, you will be asked how you wish to receive your gift. State that you want to receive the gift via internet. After the gift has been received by your game, you will need to go back to the main menu and select “Continue.” Now, while in the game, go to any Pokémon Center and talk to the deliveryman, who will give you the shiny Tapu Koko.

The shiny Tapu Koko will be level 60 and know the moves Nature’s Madness, Discharge, Agility and Electro Ball. Tapu Koko will also be holding the item Electric Seed, which boosts its holder’s defense when there is Electric Terrain. Luckily, Tapu Koko has the ability Electric Surge, which creates an Electric Terrain upon entering the battlefield.
