‘I’m Gonna Die the Next Day’: Selena Gomez Opens Up About Her Deepest Fears

Selena Gomez discussed her personal struggles in a recent interview.

Selena Gomez is talking about her problems with worry and her fear of losing people and things. She says that she was crying heavily not long after she got married to the music producer Benny Blanco just a month ago. The singer and actress spoke very honestly about her feelings on Wednesday at Fortune Magazine’s Most Powerful Women conference, which was held in Washington, D.C.

Gomez, who is 33 years old, explained that her mind often goes to thoughts of the worst possible thing that could happen, even when she is experiencing big, happy events in her life. She said to the people listening, “This is how I work personally, but [when] something great happens in my life, I expect something bad to happen.”

She further explained that even when she makes an effort to enjoy and celebrate happy times, her thoughts often move toward being afraid that something will become a problem. She shared, “So instead of being present and saying, ‘OK, wow, we’ve done a great thing,’ which I do, I’m always thinking, ‘OK, but this could all go away tomorrow, so how can I make sure that doesn’t happen?”

A Personal View Of Her Anxiety After Getting Married

Gomez said this way of thinking is her struggle whenever she goes through something wonderful. She was talking about her continuous fight to find emotional balance even when she is feeling happy. “I got married and then I was sobbing because I was like, ‘I’m gonna die the next day,’” she said. “I just think that’s a little life thing.” Her words provide an unusual and close view into the thinking of one of the most famous performers of her generation. She has talked openly about her mental health difficulties before.

Gomez has in the past talked about her own struggles with feelings of anxiety, deep sadness, and bipolar disorder. She often tells other people that they should get support and help, and she works to make people feel less ashamed about mental health problems.

The star of the show Only Murders in the Building married Blanco on September 27. The wedding was a small, private event held at the Sea Crest Nursery in Santa Barbara, California. The occasion was described as being very personal, with only family and very close friends present.

Gomez was wearing a special lace wedding dress made just for her by the designer Ralph Lauren. Blanco wore a formal suit from the same designer. He also wore a watch with diamonds that believe is valued at about one million dollars.

The singer’s romance with Blanco, who is a one of the Grammy Award-winning producers famous for working with singers like Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber, became public knowledge near the end of 2023. From that time, the pair have sometimes posted pictures and stories about their life together on social media, but they have mostly chosen to keep their relationship quiet and out of the spotlight.
