Today (February 13), Nintendo held their first Nintendo Direct presentation of the year. During this stream, a brief update on last year’s Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was given.

During the presentation, it was revealed that Ver. 3.0.0 of the game will be available soon, though what specifically this update will entail was not expanded upon. However, what was announced is that the first paid DLC character, Joker from Persona 5, will become available to play before the end of April. Joker will be the first DLC character from Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s Fighter Pass to enter the game. Players will be able to buy Joker as a stand-alone purchase, which will include Joker as a playable character, a new stage, and new music, for $5.99, otherwise the full Fighters Pass, which will include five DLC characters, each with their own stage and music, is available for $24.99.

Interestingly, Ver. 2.0.0 of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was made available just a couple of weeks ago, which added Piranha Plant as a playable character, among other things. Piranha Plant was originally scheduled to come to the game in February, but ended up appearing in late January. Still, it’s probably best to expect Joker to come in April, rather than assuming he’ll come a little earlier than planned as well.
