Lone Survivor, Jasper Byrne’s critically acclaimed 2D survival horror game is coming to the PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. A game which was one of our top titles in 2012, was previously only available on the PC, Mac, and Linux. Byrne announced today that the game will arrive on Sony’s platforms this summer.

“Lone Survivor’s release on PlayStation consoles is a dream come true for me,” said Byrne. “I’ve been a big fan of Sony’s hardware all my life. I really hope PS3 and Vita owners enjoy the game and its new content.”

Other indie developers have had great success with moving their wares to the PlayStation Network in recent months. It was recently revealed that Retro City Rampage saw a significant boost in profits once the game went live on the PS3 and PS Vita. This could be especially true for a game like Lone Survivor, depending on how well its ported to the platform, this could be a perfect fit for the PS Vita handheld.
