Microsoft is stepping up security of the Xbox 360 and other associated online accounts.  These new security measures implement an optional two-step verification process which asks for two pieces of information anytime you access your account.

These security updates don’t just impact Xbox 360 sign-ins, they also affect Windows, Skype, and other Microsoft services.  The company hopes to pull all of their services closer together with the recently released security update.

“Given this critical role for Microsoft account, we remain vigilant in working hard to protect your account, which is why we’re adding an option so you can enable two-step verification to further protect yourself.”

This optional security update can be performed online at Microsoft’s Live Accounts Management page.
