Mortal Kombat Can Be Rebalanced Without Patching

by | @AttackFanboy | on April 20, 2011

Mortal Kombat can be rebalanced on the fly without the need for patches.  One of the most frustrating things about fighting games are when characters begin to get exploited soon after release.  Sentinel anyone?  Well this won’t be a problem according to NetherRealm’s Ed Boon.  Boon told our source that if a character is too powerful or an exploit is found for any of the characters in Mortal Kombat, the developer is able to make adjustments to the game on the fly and address the problem immediately.

Boon didn’t go into too much detail in the interview but the mechanics seem similar to other games that offer similar features.  With the built in patching system in place, you can enjoy Mortal Kombat without the fear of hopping online to a world of glitch ridden exploits.  Enjoy it you will, Mortal Kombat released yesterday to critical acclaim.  The game has received many glowing review scores and current holds a respectable 86 on Metacritic.  We also gave our thoughts on Mortal Kombat 9, in our review.
