Not too long ago, we brought to you the news of Cities XXL’s announcement. Cities XXL is a city-building simulation game, being published by Focus Home Interactive, where you go out to make the biggest and bestest city you can. To help drum up a bit of fanfare for the game, Focus Home Interactive has released a trailer showcasing more of the game’s engine.
In the trailer, which you can watch below, you can see what the game looks like close up. The buildings and the traffic look superb. The people, being cartoonish, not so much. They do seem to be enjoying many different types of activities, but it will be interesting to see if these are merely contrived where the same 3 people will always be playing basketball as long as the basketball court exists till the end of time.
Cities XXL, as the name suggests, is trying to bring the idea of big into city-building games and are making a step in the right direction with 1000 buildings in the game, before we even talk about the user-created content. The maps you will build on are going to be “huge” and there will be even more options to make your city greener in order to tackle the new pollution mechanics.
Cities XXL is set to be released on the 29th of January for PCs. You can pre-order it now and save 20% or save 50% if you have previously owned Cities XL.
