Square Enix has showcased new gameplay footage of the upcoming Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT for PS4, featuring the most recently unveiled characters, a slightly redesigned interface and ending with the first images of Final Fantasy XV’s Noctis as a controllable character. The heir to the throne of Lucis is seen fighting enemies with his recognizable moves from the main game, including the use of different weapons that allow a wide range of attacks.

Among the rest of new characters that can be seen are FFVIII’s Ultimecia, who was just recently presented and is able to launch powerful attacks from the distance, making her a great options for strategic players. FF Tactics’ Ramza Beoulve can also be spotted for a few seconds launching a mix of melee and magic attacks. Interestingly enough, there is also footage from a battle agains Ifrit, one of the game’s summons.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT is a fighting game that features some of the most popular heroes and villains from the RPG series. Battles are set in teams of 3 vs 3, perfect for the thrilling online multiplayer matches. We were able to play the game during the past closed beta, and shared our impressions. Square Enix seems to have taken note from some of the criticisms, for example making the battle interface more simple and easier to understand.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy NT launches exclusively for PS4 on January 2018. Watch the new trailer below.
