Leaked images of Nintendo’s NX controller quickly spread across the web, causing a lot of people to speculate on whether it’s a good shop, or an early developer kit. The leaker himself has officially confirmed the NX controller was indeed very much fake, fooling a lot of people around the internet. The leaker uploaded a video on YouTube, showing everyone exactly how he created his elaborate mockup. Other leaked images of the NX controller have surfaced online, which now can be safe to say are fake as well.

The leaker who goes by the name of ID 2Dev on YouTube, had a lot of people fooled when he first submitted his convincing render across forums. Even causing other people to post their own fakes, convincing many that Nintendo’s leaked controller patents were very much plausible, and probably real. There’s no denying that a lot of trickery went into the hoax, which in turn generated a lot of memes and buzz from gamers. Nintendo themselves have kept quiet about this whole situation, most likely saving the big NX reveal for E3 later this year.

The NX is no stranger to rumors, and there are a lot of them out there. When it comes to these sort of leaks, you always have to take them with a big grain of salt. Better to wait for Nintendo to reveal anything official, and when they do, we’ll be sure to let you know!
