Last week, Piranha Plant was added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as a playable fighter. This DLC fighter was available for free to all players who purchased and registered their copy of the game before January 31, with the promise that the new character would be available to purchase at a later date for those who didn’t buy the game so early. Well, it seems that that “later date” wasn’t too much later, since the character is available to purchase now.

Recently, and in-game notification informed players that the Piranha Plant fighter DLC is now available to purchase from Nintendo’s eShop. This DLC costs $5 and only includes the new playable character, as opposed to future DLC packs, which will include a new stage and music along with each fighter, but will cost $6 each. Keep in mind that Piranha Plant is NOT a part of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate‘s Fighter Pass DLC pack, so if you want Piranha Plant, you’ll have to buy it as stand-alone DLC.

The Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Fighter Pass is currently available to purchase for $25 and will include five more DLC characters that will come with their own stages and music. The first DLC character that will be part of the Fighter Pass will be Joker from Persona 5, but the other four upcoming fighters are currently unknown.
