Wolfenstein: The New Order will not be arrive this fall as according to plan. The game which saw a mixed reception at E3 2013 hass been pushed into 2014, according to Bethesda’s Pete Hines. Hines relayed the news via Twitter, but did offer some color on the Wolfenstein situation in remarks made to Polygon.

Hines pointed to issues of working on current and next-gen platforms was a major contributor to the delay, and that next-gen consoles are still a moving target. Ultimately, it looks like Wolfenstein: The New Order is in need a more polish before release.

“The fact that the next-gen stuff is still moving is also definitely a factor. But the most important thing was definitely just looking where it was at, what they needed to polish. Because it’s just not trying to be a shooter, because it’s trying to be a shooter that also has driving elements, story elements, narrative, stealth sections each of those has to be excellent.”

So when can we expect Wolfenstein: The New Order? Hines put a wide window on the game with the blanket 2014 statement. When it arrives, it will launch on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
