If you’ve been looking forward to some multiplayer, zombie-killing action in lieu of a Left 4 Dead 3, then you’ve probably been keeping your eye on World War Z. Until recently, the game has had a very vague release window of “sometime in 2019,” but now we know exactly when it’ll be coming out.
In a recent press release, it was revealed that World War Z will be launching for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 16. This release date has the game launching pretty close to another big zombie game coming out this year, Days Gone, which launches on April 26. However, the two games will likely fill different niches, since Days Gone will be more about its single-player campaign while World War Z will aim to satisfy those looking for some multiplayer fun.
World War Z offers four-player co-op, in which players can choose between six different classes of characters. Developer Saber Interactive also recently revealed the game’s multiple PvPvZ modes, or Players vs. Players vs. Zombies modes. In these modes, two teams of four humans each will face off in a variety of ways, depending on the specific multiplayer mode being played in, while both teams will also have to defend themselves against massive hordes of zombies.
