We all know that WWE 2K15 is looking better than ever, but how is it going to play? In this first-look by IGN we get to find out a little about that with the unveiling of the game’s story and career modes. The story mode is a big change from 2K14’s 30 Years of Wrestlemania, which was very history focused. This year’s story mode is called 2K Showcase and is meant to be a more up-close-and-personal story featuring classic rivalries from WWE history.
The mode will be split into two distinct episodes, so at least two major rivalries will be featured. Which particular rivalries will be covered in WWE 2K15 were not discussed, but expect them to be among the best if 2K’s history is anything to go by. Given how successful 2K was with 2K14’s 30 Years of Wrestlmania, it looks like fans are in for another great experience with WWE 2K15.
Along with the story mode came news of an actual career mode for your customized character. The developers at 2K have taken the career mode from the NBA 2K14 game and modified it for the WWE 2K15 experience. The catch though is that to play through this mode you’ll have to get the game for one of the new-gen systems. PS3 and Xbox 360 will not feature the WWE 2K15 career mode, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions will.
Even without these new and improved modes WWE 2K15 was already looking to be one of the biggest and best WWE games ever. 2K spent over 50 days recording motion capture of WWE Superstars’ signature moves resulting in the game having over five times as much animation data as WWE 2K14. Along with this they recorded over four times as much dialogue and commentary, making the audio just as impressive as the visuals.
WWE 2K15 is set to release on October 28th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.
