Microsoft’s Games with Gold program has been lagging behind a little bit lately, offering usually just one good game, while retaining Pool Nation FX for multiple months. That changes in July though as the company looks to celebrate two full years of giving members free games by doubling the usual rewards and making it permanent going forward.

From now on Xbox Live Gold members will receive two free games for their Xbox Ones, which has been the case since April, but is now becoming permanent. Starting in July there will be a total of four games offered as part of the Games with Gold program, two for Xbox One, and two for Xbox 360.

July’s offerings are: Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and So Many Me for Xbox One, along with Plants vs. Zombies and Gears of War 3 for Xbox 360. The releases will be staggered, with the first game availabe from July 1st through the 15th, and the second up from the 16th to the 31st.

Anyone with an Xbox Live Gold membership can download and play the games for free, with the usual caveat on Xbox One that they will be inaccessible once your membership expires. Also, be sure to jump into the Xbox Store and grab Massive Chalice while you can, as it will disappear on July 1st.
