Firaxis and 2K have shared a video showcasing the new features of War of the Chosen, the expansion package of XCOM 2 coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC. With this release the game will get new factions, hero classes, missions, environments, and more content to enhance the strategy and customization options. In War of the Chosen, the different human factions like Reapers and Skirmishers must work together to defeat their common alien enemy in the areas outside of the big populations.
This is the official description of the expansion: “The fight against ADVENT continues when additional resistance factions form in order to eliminate the alien threat on Earth. In response, a new enemy, known as the “Chosen,” emerges with one goal: recapture the Commander.”
The most common threats that players will face in this expansion will be the Lost and the Assassins. The formers are zombie-like creatures that will be numerous and sensible to loud noises like gunfire and explosions. The Assassins are lethal alien agents experts in stealth and melee combat, and who require an excellent strategy by the player to come out alive from the battle. Finally, the trailer also previews another threat yet to be seen.
War of the Chosen has been presented as the biggest expansion that an XCOM game has ever received. It is expected to launch on August 31 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Watch the trailer below.
