Walmart shopper senses something’s off with her Minute Maid juice, then she cuts it open and gets traumatized for life

It is definitely a strange feeling when you pour a drink expecting a refreshing experience and end up finding something completely unexpected. A recent viral video on TikTok has brought a massive amount of attention to the quality control of Minute Maid, a brand owned by Coca-Cola that many people associate with pure nostalgia.

The video, which has already racked up 1.1 million views and was covered by BroBible, was posted by user @dailyyyviewsss and paints a pretty grim picture of what might be lurking inside those familiar cartons. It is the kind of discovery that makes you want to double-check every single thing you pull out of your refrigerator.

The shopper in the video noted that she was preparing to pour herself a glass of juice from a brand-new container when she noticed something strange floating inside. She was using a transparent bottle, which allowed her to spot the debris before she even took a full drink.

After noticing the issue, she decided to cut the Minute Maid carton open to get a better look at what was actually happening inside the packaging

Once the carton was opened, she showed the camera a series of greyish-cream clumps floating right on top of the liquid. It is a nauseating sight, and it is easy to see why she felt so strongly about it. She even pointed out that the expiration date on the carton was May 26, 2026, meaning the product was well within its shelf life and should have been perfectly safe to consume.

In the description of her video, the user tagged both Walmart and Minute Maid, writing, “OMG don’t get these nomo or from @Walmart specifically @Minute Maid yall getting sued or something!!!!!!” She also included on-screen text that stated, “MinuteMaid count yo days.” To make matters worse, she clarified in the comments section that she had purchased the item through the Walmart app. She also mentioned that she had already taken a sip of the juice before noticing the problem, noting that the texture and taste felt off.

This is not the first time people have sounded the alarm about mold in these juice cartons. The comment section of the video quickly filled up with other users sharing similar stories, which suggests this might be a much larger issue than just one bad batch. One commenter wrote, “Omg the same thing happens to me n my mom we called the number on the back n they sent us coupons for free juices.”

Another user mentioned that they stopped buying the brand entirely about a decade ago because they encountered a similar situation. This person specifically noted that they now only drink from clear containers so they can verify the contents before they take a sip. A third person chimed in to suggest that this is a persistent problem, comparing it to previous issues where consumers found mold in Capri Sun pouches.

The history of these incidents is actually quite extensive. Back in April, a user shared a video on Facebook showing mold floating in a glass of Minute Maid. That person warned others by saying, “Do not buy this juice!! I just poured myself a glass after watching a TikTok about this juice having mold and this came out of mine, the container doesn’t expire until may 11th.”

Another instance occurred in 2025, when a Facebook user shared photos of mold growing on the side of a Minute Maid carton. Going back even further, a Reddit user claimed in 2013 that consuming moldy juice from the brand had made their entire family sick.

It is honestly pretty frustrating to see these kinds of reports continue to surface over the course of more than a decade. Whether it is mold found in Starbucks drinks or on equipment at a Texas Wingstop, seeing contamination in food and beverage products is always a massive letdown. However, this specific situation with the Minute Maid carton seems to be hitting a nerve with a lot of people who rely on the brand for their daily routine.

It is a reminder that even the biggest, most recognizable companies can run into serious quality control hurdles that directly impact the consumer.
