The legal battle between NBA star Anthony Edwards and Ayesha Howard has taken a massive turn as new allegations regarding financial transparency have emerged. Ayesha Howard is now accusing the professional athlete of deliberately hiding California-based assets to avoid a larger child support obligation. This development comes after a long, drawn-out process that has seen both parties trading accusations in the public eye.
According to Complex, in a newly filed affidavit submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court, Howard claims that Edwards provided misleading information about his financial ties to California during earlier stages of the case. She alleges that she discovered evidence in August 2025 showing that Edwards had maintained a business presence in the state for years.
According to her filing, this presence includes an LLC, registered trademarks, and a bank account located in Beverly Hills. Howard argues that these assets should have been disclosed clearly when the two were originally fighting over which state should hold jurisdiction over their child support case.
You’re saying all these assets were never mentioned before?
The dispute over jurisdiction became a central point of contention shortly after the birth of their daughter, Aubri, in October 2024. Edwards chose to file a paternity action in Georgia, while Howard pursued her own case in California. At that time, Edwards argued that California courts lacked the necessary authority to preside over the matter because he claimed he had no meaningful personal or business connections to the state.
In March 2025, a California judge ruled in favor of Edwards, deciding that child support would not be determined in California despite Howard’s objections. Howard now contends that this judicial decision was based on incomplete information. In her affidavit, she asserts that the evidence she recently uncovered proves that Edwards maintained a business, financial, contractual, and economic presence in California for roughly six years.
She believes these connections are sufficient to satisfy the legal standard required for California to oversee the child support case. Howard alleges that both she and the court relied on Edwards’ earlier sworn testimony that he had no such ties, and she claims he intentionally omitted and concealed his financial activities to evade his obligations.
This latest filing follows a period of intense conflict between the former couple. Beyond the legal battle, the Timberwolves star has also faced hurdles on the court, including Edwards throwing the basketball into the stands, which resulted in a one-game suspension. Previously, Edwards accused Howard of refusing to finalize custody paperwork unless he agreed to pay her $500,000 in damages and post a public apology on social media.
Instead, she argued that the request reflected the substantial financial and reputational damages she says she suffered throughout the prolonged court battle. Howard has also taken steps to deny online rumors suggesting that Edwards had already paid more than $1 million in child support upfront. In a statement to The Shade Room, she clarified that no such proceedings have occurred and that she has neither been offered nor agreed to any such terms.
The dynamic between the two remains incredibly tense, with both sides accusing the other of manipulation. Edwards has previously alleged that Howard is exploiting their 11-month-old daughter for profit on social media, suggesting that she is prolonging the litigation to keep her 642,000 Instagram followers engaged. His legal team argued in a September 30 filing that Howard treats their child as a revenue-generating asset, noting that she publicly stated the case was open for the public to look into.
Edwards claimed he even offered Howard sole custody with no visitation for himself just to bring the situation to a close, but argued that she refused to sign the judgments because an open case generates more content for her social media presence. Howard has strongly disputed this narrative, calling the accusations of exploitation hypocritical.
She pointed out that Edwards has featured his other children in his own promotional content, including a Prada campaign that featured his infant daughter. Howard argues that she only speaks publicly to correct false narratives, such as the rumors regarding a $1 million settlement. She stated that she was privately offered money to seal the proceedings on the same day the settlement rumor went viral, which she interpreted as an attempt to silence her.
As the situation stands, Howard continues to press her claim that the court was misled by the concealment of business ties like AE5 Enterprises LLC.
