Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau are getting more serious. The singer and the former Canadian prime minister were seen together in public for the first time as a couple. They went to Paris to celebrate Perry’s 41st birthday and were spotted holding hands and smiling at the Crazy Horse Paris cabaret show.
Perry is busy with her Lifetimes World Tour right now, which goes on until December. But sources say she likes that Trudeau is trying hard to see her. “She’s focused on her tour, and Justin has made a real effort to meet her where she is, literally,” one source said. “She’s flattered. He’s shown that he’s committed and really cares about spending time with her.”
According to People, Perry just broke up with Orlando Bloom not too long ago. So this new relationship is a bit unexpected for her. “Dating Justin is something she never saw coming, but she’s really enjoying this surprising life twist,” a source shared. Another person close to Perry said she really likes what she sees in Trudeau. “Katy didn’t expect to fall for somebody so soon, but Justin checks all the boxes. He has a great sense of humor, he’s charming and treats her with respect.”
They’re Making It Work Despite Busy Schedules
People first started talking about Perry and Trudeau dating back in July. Then in early October, they were seen kissing on a boat near Santa Barbara. Trudeau, 53, once trolled Trump, even traveled all the way to Paris just for Perry’s birthday. She really liked that he did that.
Both of them have a lot going on in their lives. But they are finding time for each other. “They both have busy schedules but make time for each other and have a really strong connection,” another source explained. Perry is traveling for her tour while Trudeau has his own things to handle after leaving his job as Canadian prime minister.
This is a fresh start for both of them. Perry and Bloom broke up in June after being together on and off for nine years. They were supposed to get married but things didn’t work out. Just like other famous people dealing with big life changes, Perry is moving forward with her life. Trudeau split from his wife Sophie Gregoire back in 2023. They were married for 18 years.
