Timothée Chalamet is thinking about becoming a dad one day. The 29-year-old actor has been dating Kylie Jenner since 2023, and he recently talked about starting a family in a new interview.
According to People, Chalamet shed light on a moment that really changed how he thinks about having kids. He was watching an interview with another famous person, though he wouldn’t say who it was.
That celebrity was talking about how great it was to not have children because it gave them so much free time to do other things. Chalamet and his friend who was watching with him both felt really sad hearing that. They turned to each other and agreed it was a pretty depressing way to look at life.
Seeing good parents at work makes a big difference
The actor said that having children “could be on the radar” for him in the future. He explained that working with certain movie directors showed him that you can have a successful career and still be a good parent. He pointed to Denis Villeneuve, who directed him in Dune, as someone who does both things really well.
Chalamet shared a sweet story about something that happened on set recently. It was Villeneuve’s birthday, and one of his kids surprised him by flying out to visit. Chalamet saw the director hugging his child and crying happy tears while other people on set recorded the moment. He said it really impressed him to see that Villeneuve is both amazing at his job and a caring father.
The actor made it clear that he thinks people can be great at what they do without putting everything else aside. He said he knows this because he has worked with directors who are really talented and also make time for their families.
Chalamet also mentioned that many people around him are moving forward in their personal lives. He brought up that Zendaya recently got engaged and Anya Taylor-Joy got married. His sister Pauline also had a baby in September 2024.
Jenner already has two kids of her own. She has a seven-year-old daughter named Stormi and a three-year-old son named Aire with her ex-boyfriend Travis Scott. A source reported back in May that Chalamet has already met both children and spent time with them.
The same source said that Jenner really likes how Chalamet acts around her kids and has even told her closest friends that she might want to have another child with him someday.
When it came to talking about his relationship with Jenner directly, Chalamet kept things private during the interview. He said he just doesn’t have anything to share about it, and he made clear that he’s not staying quiet because he’s scared or worried.
Even though they don’t talk much about their relationship publicly, people saw them out together on a date in early October. They seem to be doing well after being together for more than two years.
