Cardi B was dragged by DHS for her ‘past behavior,’ but she immediately ended the argument by demanding they talk about this instead

Another DHS embarrassment.

Rapper Cardi B didn’t waste any time shutting down the Department of Homeland Security after the agency tried to use her past against her this week, completely flipping the script by demanding they focus on the Epstein files instead. She successfully redirected the entire conversation, demanding that DHS drop the personal attacks and instead discuss the Department of Justice files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, as reported by The Hill.

The whole conflict kicked off when the rapper was performing at a concert in Coachella Valley, California. While onstage, she sang a snippet of the late Tejano musician Selena Quintanilla’s song “Como La Flor” and then started joking about federal officers. She was clearly trying to hype up her audience and protect her fans, which is a pretty cool move for a celebrity.

She declared, “B—, if ICE comes in here, we’re going to jump their a—-s.” She added that she had “some bear mace in the back.” She finished the thought strongly, telling the crowd, “They ain’t taking my fans, b—, let’s go!”

Cardi B’s political enthusiasm isn’t just limited to criticizing the current administration

The Department of Homeland Security took to X to reply to the rapper’s comments. DHS decided to throw shade at the star by referencing her admission years ago that she had drugged and robbed men when she was younger. The agency wrote, “As long as she doesn’t drug and rob our agents, we’ll consider that an improvement over her past behavior.”

Cardi B wasn’t having any of that, and she had an immediate, powerful reply ready to go. She used the word “drug” that DHS had used in their post to redirect the entire conversation toward a far more serious topic. She clapped back, “If we talking about drugs let’s talk about Epstein and friends drugging underage girls to rape them.” She then asked the crucial, pointed question: “Why yall don’t wanna talk about the Epstein files?”

It’s impossible for DHS to win an argument when you pivot from a celebrity’s past mistakes to alleged government coverups concerning a major sex offender. This isn’t the first time Cardi B, whose birth name is Belcalis Almánzar, has voiced strong political opinions or taken aim at the administration. She has been an outspoken critic of President Trump and his policies for years.

She even slammed the president after last year’s Super Bowl, claiming he damaged her designer shoes while he was in attendance. She also previously mentioned that the president would have to “bring my uncle to come back, because my uncle got deported.”

Cardi B was a huge supporter of Senator Bernie Sanders during his 2020 presidential run. The rapper and Sanders even held an interview back in 2019 where they shared their admiration for former President Franklin D. Roosevelt. She previously criticized voters for letting Sanders down during the 2016 election cycle. Sanders himself even suggested that it “would be great” if the rapper decided to enter politics herself.
