She alleged that an NFL receiver’s behavior left her traumatized and injured, but footage emerged of her twerking over him as he slept that night

Puka Nacua’s case has taken a wild turn as the new evidence has brought a new side of the incident to light. Previously, the alleged woman claimed that out of nowhere, the NFL player got close to her friend and, putting his head in her lap, he bit her thumb. Then, suddenly, he turned his attention to the alleged victim, biting her neck while they were all in the van. Even though she claimed he did this forcefully, the new evidence reveals another side of the incident.​

As per the Daily Mail, a video obtained from the scene in the van showed a woman in white apparel twerking while Nacua lay on the lap of another woman. The woman in the white dress is considered to be the accuser in this lawsuit. Even though she filed the case of domestic violence and anti-Semitism, the video apparently suggests that during this whole incident, the accusing party might somehow be an active participant in the seemingly jolly fiasco instead of being an assault victim.​

The video obtained from TMZ gives more information about the scene that later turned into a domestic violence accusation. Previously, Puka’s attorney, Levi McCathern, speaking to the press, revealed that the alleged victim continued to spend time with Nacua even after the incident. With this new footage spreading online, Nacua and his legal team are reportedly looking into filing a defamation case.

Nacua’s legal team reported, “Recent media reports have included inflammatory and unverified claims… that are flatly inconsistent with the facts. In fact, she continued to spend time with our client after the alleged incident – conduct that directly contradicts the narrative now being advanced – as evidenced by the videos seen online of her twerking and partying at a club. Puka denies these allegations in the strongest possible terms. We will be filing a defamation lawsuit and pursuing all available legal remedies in response to these false and damaging statements.”

Puka’s legal team is apparently going on the offensive now, filing a defamation lawsuit against the accusing party. But despite efforts to clear his name, this whole court mania could affect his career. If the case extends to a point that overlaps with the NFL season, it could affect his performance on the field.

​Nacua has been quite productive last season after missing the previous season due to multiple injuries. In 2024, he finished with 990 receiving yards and 3 Touchdowns, but in 2025, he had 1715 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. Looking at the stats, he is regaining his position on the team, but his career could drastically change if the lawsuit didn’t go as planned for him. Regardless, this new footage does hold the potential to rewrite the narrative of this scene.
