A Florida woman risked her life to save an innocent-looking man from the water, but his hidden identity held a deadly secret

He was hiding something extreme.

Making rash decisions to save someone’s life is a strong human instinct, and sometimes people even go beyond their limits to do so. A similar sort of incident happened in Florida, where a swimmer saved a struggling swimmer’s life only to find out that the person she saved was a suspect in a double homicide.

According to People, the woman named Belinda recalled the whole incident that she heard a faint voice from far away calling for help, and upon seeing the person in distress, she dove to help the person out. Belinda added that she carried him on his back while the waves pushed him to the shore. The woman was exhausted after doing intense labor in saving the man, whom she brought back.

She told ABC Affiliate WPBF 25 News, “I could hear a faint ‘help, help, help. I looked and saw someone…in distress.” She affirmed that she brought the man back to shore unharmed. In the video released by the police, Belinda was seen stooping beside a man who had just come out of the water.

The woman still seemed enthusiastic after helping the man, even when she came to know his real side

When the woman was told about the man’s alleged involvement in the homicide of his wife and his lover. She calmly answered that she might still have helped the man who was in distress. The man named Jesse Scott Ellis, whom she saved, was the same man who was a key suspect in the killing of his own wife and her lover, whom he found cheating on him. Belinda made it clear that everyone is going through something in their life, but cases like these have no justification, similar to a husband who murdered his wife and tried to portray it as an accident.

According to WPBF 25 News, Belinda said, “I could not leave him in the water no matter what,” and added, “Everybody is going through something.” On the other hand, police reported that Jesse killed his wife, Stacie Mason, 49, and her lover, Dany Ooley, 56, as another case . He then allegedly placed both of the bodies in a parking lot at the main branch of the Indian River County Library System in Vero Beach.

The suspect, despite being saved by the woman, still escaped, and the police have announced that the public should not approach him directly to avoid any harmful or unwanted situation. Even though the police have not declared him the killer, they still consider him to be the person of interest, looking at the surveillance video of the incident. If Jesse is the killer in the case, then the woman might have just saved the man who has not faced the consequences of his crimes yet.
