It’s now fair game for developers to start talking about the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.  With both consoles having been revealed, it’s only natural that we start hearing more from developers about the new hardware.  According to Just Cause developer, Avalanche Studios’ Linus Blomberg, the PlayStation 4 is more powerful than the Xbox One.

The specs on paper would favor the PS4 over the Xbox One in terms of power

“The specs on paper would favor the PS4 over the Xbox One in terms of raw power, but there are many other factors involved so we’ll just have to wait and see a bit longer before making that judgement,” the developer told Edge Online.

Blomberg says that these things tend to change as the consoles mature.  “It’s difficult to say, as it’s still early days when it comes to drivers.  With each new driver releases, performance increases dramatically in some areas.  The PlayStation 4 environment is definitely more mature currently, so Microsoft has some catching up to do.”

E3 is just around the corner, and with the Xbox One focusing on games for the expo, hopefully we’ll see just what this new console is capable of when it comes to visuals.
