Star Wars: The Old Republic is set to get two expansions in 2014, according to a news article on the games website.
This comes from senior producer, Bruce Maclean who talked about the planned expansions saying “one similar to Galactic Starfighter in scope and one more closely resembling Rise of the Hutt Cartel.”
In the post, the senior producer also said that instead of the two week minor patch cycles they will instead be moving to a three week cycle for the minor patches. This means that the major patches will be coming every nine weeks, rather than the eight week cycle that happened in 2013. On this matter Maclean said “we feel the benefit of catching pesky bugs and improving quality is worth it and we remain committed to hitting our deadlines for all of our major content updates this year.”
In the post, Maclean also talked about the upcoming patches and features that are coming within the next month. Some of these features include the Galactic Starfighter expansion being available to Free-to-Play players. The update also includes new ships and leaderboards for the expansion. The post also talked about patches coming in March, April and June.
Star Wars: The Old Republic is a Free-to-Play MMO on PC set in the Star Wars universe. The game was developed by Bioware and was released in 2011 and continues to get a massive amount of support.
