A live-action TV series based on The Legend of Zelda is currently being planned by Netflix and Nintendo.
The Wall Street Journal has reported that Netflix is planning to make a TV series for The Legend of Zelda. It will be a live-action series and is in its very early stages of development.
It’s so early in development, The Legend of Zelda TV series has yet to find a writer. The Wall Street Journal says if things don’t get off the ground, Netflix or Nintendo could cancel the project before it becomes a reality. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen.
The Legend of Zelda TV series is being described as “Game of Thrones” or “Lord of the Rings”, but for a younger audience. Netflix is working closely with Nintendo to try and get this project off the ground.
The last time The Legend of Zelda had a TV series was the cartoon released in 1989. It only lasted for one season and fans didn’t really like it. Not to mention Link always annoyed everyone when he said “excuse me princess” a thousand times during each episode.
If The Legend of Zelda TV series goes ahead, it will be interesting to see if they make Link talk or not. In the games, he’s usually mute.
