The road for Driveclub thus far has been one filled with potholes.  The retail release launched horribly to numerous online issues, while it was pretty clear that there was good racer behind said problems.  Since then, the game has been fixed for the most part.  Those issues have subsided, and Evolution Studios and Sony are looking to improve Driveclub in the year ahead.

In a recent post on the PlayStation Blog, Evolution addressed some of the studio’s plans to keep Driveclub stocked with content for both players who own the retail version of the game and the PS Plus edition.  Evolution says that new features, modes, tracks, and cars are on the way, as well as some surprises.

“Fully customisable multiplayer lobbies, new difficulty options, more tracks, community events, extra photomode options, fine-tuning for drift mode, smarter notifications and many more developments are all incoming,” reads the post.

Driveclub still has a lot of untapped potential.  As we said in our Driveclub Review, it was all dependent on things working.  It’s blend of beautiful graphics and arcade-style racing are unmatched on the PlayStation 4 thus far, and with continued support it might be worth keeping on your radar going forward.

The PlayStation Plus version of the game has been available for some time now, and anybody with a PlayStation Plus membership can get in to check out the racer for free.
