The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess was certainly one of the most interesting games in The Legend of Zelda franchise, as it saw a release across two generations, including GameCube. We’ve already seen an HD remake of the first GameCube entry with Wind Waker and now it sounds like that could be happening with Twilight Princess as well.
There have been rumors for ages that a Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD remake would be coming at some point, but outside of talk that they had tried out other games when remaking Wind Waker, we’ve heard nothing. However, someone found something very interesting in the Wii U eShop that seems to hint at just that.
Octogirl on Twitter has for awhile now been finding some interesting things within the code for the Wii U eShop, which previously found out some interesting Splatoon leaks.
She just posted the other day that she found an icon for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess within the eShop, which led to many expecting it may be for a VC release of the Wii version, as we’ve seen with other games like Super Mario Galaxy 2.
This would have made the most sense, but she also found a listing actually in the code for something called “The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD.” This was not there when she previously went through the code for the eShop, so it’s a relatively new listing.
With The Legend of Zelda Wii U delayed, could this be a good compromise to launch by the end of 2015 or early 2016? We’ll have to wait and see if it ends up being real, but with this and other rumors surfacing about Splatoon and a new Pokemon game recently, this would be a great time for the return of the Nintendo Direct.
