Bethesda Hasn’t Given Up Yet On Getting Mod Support For PS4

Earlier this year we learned that mod support for the PlayStation 4 versions of both Fallout 4 and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition had been canceled, though this had nothing to do with Bethesda. The problem was with Sony’s policies with releasing unfinished content or content that cannot be quality checked by Sony to the PlayStation Store, which unsurprisingly upset a lot of fans.

While the prospects of mod support being added to the PlayStation 4 versions of these games doesn’t seem like it’s happening anytime soon, Bethesda definitely hasn’t given up PS4 gamers yet. Bethesda’s Pete Hines was recently responding to several fans on Twitter about the lack of mod support on PS4, and when someone pointed out some alternatives, he replied with “I assure you we don’t lack for alternatives. We are trying to do the most possible for PS4 players.”

So, it looks like Bethesda has some other options that they may be trying to make work with Sony in the near future when it comes to mod support, but Hines did not detail what those alternatives were.

Fallout 4 is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, though The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Special Edition will launch on October 28th for the same platforms.
