The series that tons of fans have been waiting to arrive on Nintendo Switch was just announced during Nintendo’s E3 Direct presentation. Super Mario Party will arrive on Switch on October 5th, 2018. The game looks to return the series to its roots, with each player moving around the board individually, rather than as a group as they have been for the last few entries. And there looks like a few more Switch-focused tricks up this game’s sleeve.
One feature that was shown off was linking together different Switch systems, allowing for a larger and moveable set of screens. How this might play out throughout the game is anyone’s guess at this point, but the potential gameplay opportunities are pretty huge.
Along with that there appeared to be a ton of different ways to play, using Joy-Cons to control your character and interact with minigames. A few were shown off in the trailer, but there’s surely dozens more to be discovered in Super Mario Party.
Mario Party is a perfect fit for the Switch, and Super Mario Party looks like it’s ready to deliver exactly what fans wanted out of the series. We only have the short announcement trailer so far, but watch for more as E3 develops and the game gets closer to release.
