Once you’ve got yourself a fishing pole you can fish any time you want in Red Dead Redemption 2.  It’s not only a good source of food, but there’s a whole mission dedicated to catching the biggest and best fish in the game.

It’s not as simple as just heading out to fish at any time.  For best results you’re going to want to pick the best times to fish.  You will have a much better chance of catching more fish in Red Dead Redemption 2 if you wait for the right weather conditions.

The best time to fish is when it’s raining.  Second best is when it is cloudy.  The worst time to fish is when it’s sunny.

There are other factors that come in to play with fishing.  You’re going to need the right bait or lure, and you’re also going to want to make sure that you’ve got the fishing controls down, otherwise you’re probably just going to waste bait.
