Red Dead Redemption 2 has plenty of side missions and activities that you can earn cash with, but one puzzle mission can net you $1500 very fast. The mission in question will get you three gold bars which you can turn around and sell for $500 a piece at the fence.
The mission requires that you inspect two locations and then solve a quick puzzle to get the gold bars. Here’s what you need to do to get quick cash in Red Dead Redemption 2. You’re going to want to head out to Window Rock, North of Valentine. This area has a big rock formation with a hole in the middle of it. It’s very recognizable and it’s just off the rail line. Head into the circular opening in the big rock to inspect a painting.
Painting Location
Once you’ve got the painting inspected head back to the rail road and then set your map marker for Bacchus Bridge. It’s due east of your location on the map. Ride to Bacchus and when you get there take a left on the road heading north. Head north over the region line and where the triangular road formation is take a left. You will come across an opening that has cave in it.
Cave Location
Enter the cave and you will find a statue puzzle that can be quickly solved to get three gold bars. Using the diagram below, just press the buttons on the fronts of the statues. Once you do, a trap door will open in the statue in the middle that contains three gold bars. If you do happen to mess up pressing the right buttons you’ll need to reset the statue by pressing the button on the back of it.
Statue Puzzle Solution
Take those bars to the Emerald Ranch to earn the fastest $1500 in the game by selling them to the Fence.
