Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice – How to Get to Sunken Valley

Unlike most games, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice doesn’t direct you to its new areas all that often. Sure, game events will happen that unlock new levels, such as Hirata Estate. But often you’re just kind of told that a place exists and need to figure out how to get there. This is the case for the Sunken Valley, a mid to late game area that is very important to the rest of your journey across Sengoku Japan. To help out, here’s how to get to Sunken Valley in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.

How to Get to Sunken Valley

If you’re searching for the Sunken Valley then you’ve likely already beaten Genichiro inside Ashina Castle. If you haven’t, then you can relax a bit since nothing in Sunken Valley is needed until then. Keep playing and get to that battle and the story moments beyond and then come back to get the answer.

Once you’re ready you should be in the Upper Tower – Kuro’s Room location. From here the answer to how to get to Sunken Valley is right outside the nearby windows. Which one though? Standing at the altar just turn right, away from the small library where the Divine Heir does his research slightly further into the story, then to the back right corner. A window here will open out onto the Ashina Castle rooftops. Look down and to the right to see a small bridge with two guards on it. This is the bridge to the Sunken Valley.

Grapple to the roof on your right, then make your way down and past the guards. Head through the bushy area, but watch for rogue monkeys to attack you. You can just run through here if you’d like. At the end of this path is a small gazebo with the mysterious man from earlier in the game inside. Speak with him if you haven’t already, but the Sunken Valley is beyond him and down. Just look for the closest Grapple point and jump off the ledge toward it. This should put you on the other side of the ravine. Just turn left and work your way down and you’ll find more Sculptor’s Idols, the Sunken Valley, and much more, including some Divine Confetti.
