The Season of Opulence Iron Banner event is currently going on in Destiny 2, and this event gives players a chance to unlock unique Iron Banner armor from Lord Saladin. As is the case when trying to track down new armor and items in Destiny 2, there is a quest involved in getting it. This guide will explain exactly what you need to do to get the Iron Banner armor during the Season of Opulence in Destiny 2.
First off you’re going to want to head to Lord Saladin to speak with him to kick things off in the Iron Banner. He has a couple of things that you want. You’ll want to grab the Test of Strength Quest Step and some bounties to complete as well.
The Test of Strength quest step is completed by killing enemies in the Iron Banner. The Iron Banner is a Crucible Mode so head into the director and select the Crucible and then select the Iron Banner as the game mode. To complete the step you’ll need to play a few rounds of Iron Banner and kill as many enemies as possible. The amount of matches this will take you depends really on the number of kills you are getting in these matches.
Once you’ve completed the Test of Strength quest step, you can return to Lord Saladin in the Tower and he’ll give you your reward for the quest. That reward are boots depending on your character.
Iron Banner Armor Quest Steps
- Step 1: Test of Strength – Earn points by defeating enemies
- Step 2: Armed and Dangerous – Earn points by capturing zones and earning Power Plays
- Step 3: Light it Up – Kill other guardians with supers
- Step 4: Non-Stop – Earn points by killing with Auto Rifles, Fusion Rifles, Scount Rifles, Sniper Rifles, and Swords
- Step 5: Headstrong – Earn points by completing matches with win streaks earning more points
As you get new steps from Lord Saladin, you will be starting from zero on each challenge. This means that any activities done in Iron Banner matches before you’ve gotten the new quests aren’t counted towards it. After you complete all five steps for the quests you will have the complete Iron Banner armor set. The Iron Banner quest progression and rewards are only for the specific character that you are playing with. If you want Iron Banner armor for the Titan, Warlock, and Hunter you will need to complete the challenges with each guardian.
