Call of Duty: Modern Warfare trims down the mechanics you need to keep in mind while playing multiplayer. There’s no more jetpacks or wall running. Instead there’s just the basic run-and-gun action you’ve come to love for years. Of course, they couldn’t take out everything, with the game relying on some of the more basic but still vital mechanics that players use all the time. This includes sprinting and sliding, and just in case you forgot or haven’t played before here’s how to slide and sprint in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
How to Slide and Sprint
It’s all very easy, utilizing the tried-and-true control scheme that has worked for the Call of Duty series for years. If you want to slide you first need to know how to sprint, which is as simple as clicking in the left thumbstick as you move forward. On PC it’s the usual left Shift button, so tap or hold it down depending on how you have those settings tweaked in the controls. You can also double tap the run button to sprint even faster, but only for a short amount of time. Once you have a good run going you are ready to slide, which can be used to dodge incoming fire or quickly get into cover.
To slide just hold down the crouch button which should be Circle on PS4, B on Xbox One, or CTRL on PC. If you hold it down while sprinting you’ll go into a slide and end up in a prone position. Releasing a bit earlier will make it so you slide but don’t end up prone, so time it properly depending on the desired effect you are looking for. It’s that easy, just sprint by clicking the left thumbstick or pressing Shift then hold down crouch to enter a slide. That’s all there is to know about how to slide and sprint in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
