Assassin’s Creed is one of the most popular franchises in gaming, and over the past three years has seen a yearly release chronicling the adventures of Ezio Auditore. With Assassin’s Creed: Revelations wrapping up the storyline of Ezio, and Ubisoft heading in a new direction, the franchise is anything but over. Ubisoft’s Tony Key claims in a recent interview that “The meta story is supposed to be carried on forever.”

“We can go on with this brand where we want to – that’s the exciting part about the way it’s constructed,” Key continued. Following the release of Assassin’s Creed: Revelations, a survey by Ubisoft asked players where they wanted to go next in the Assassin’s Creed universe, and there was a wealth of options showing that the development was not short on ideas for historical settings for the upcoming stories.

From the Pharaoh’s Reign in Ancient Egypt to the American Revolution, Ubisoft is apparently set to use the entire course of human history to tell the tale of the Assassin’s lineage.
