While Pokémon UNITE was closing up to its upcoming release, the news of another addition to the roster were publicly shared, with the mythic Pokémon Zeraora being that last-minute call, as a free gift to all players. Kind of, as we will look into more details about this below. Zeraora was introduced back in Gen VII, during Ultra Sun’s and Ultra Moon’s era. The Electric Mythical Pokémon resembles a bipedal, feline creature with quite a temper, making it an extremely fast and strong melee attacker. In Pokémon UNITE it keeps these characteristics and as a Speedster type, expect lots of running around as you chase down enemies and score points for your team.
How to obtain Zeraora for free in Pokémon UNITE
Zeraora was announced not just as a new playable Pokémon, but also as a free gift to everyone. That’s right, this thundering beast can be obtained for free, in a very easy way. That said, it is a time-limited method and those that are not ‘fast’ enough, will lose their chance of grabbing this Legendary for free.
All you have to do to get Zeraora for free, is to log in to Pokémon UNITE with your account, before the specified date, August 31, 2021. This is the only pre-requisite in order to unlock Zeraora, so as you see it’s totally effortless and just by installing and playing the game at its release, and up to August 31, you will permanently have Zeraora in your collection. Those that log in for the first time after that date, they will unfortunately need to unlock the specific Pokémon with yet unannounced in-game methods.
It goes without saying that the above requirement is only for Switch accounts, as the mobile version of the game won’t release until September 2021. Most likely, there will be another event offer during that time frame, so those that don’t own a Switch shouldn’t worry too much. That said, we still need to wait and see for more official announcements. Until then, and if you do have a Nintendo Switch, make sure to log into the game before August 31 to claim your gift.
