Diablo 2 Resurrected Classes

Diablo 2 Resurrected: Which Class is the Best?

Recommended Videos

With seven unique classes to choose from in Diablo 2: Resurrected, you’ll no doubt be asking yourself “Which class is the best?”. Classes in Diablo 2: Resurrected retain the same armor, stats and abilities as the original Diablo 2, resulting in 21 years of players researching the best builds and classes suitable for vanquishing the forces of evil. We’ve compiled the answers into this handy guide to help you choose which character to play in Diablo 2: Resurrected. Remember to also visit our guide on how to identify items to obtain the most powerful gear in the game and get a head start.

Which Class is the Best in Diablo 2: Resurrected?

While there is no rock-solid answer to the best class in Diablo 2: Resurrected, as each class is varied and have their strengths and weaknesses, the Necromancer is the one we recommend the most. With the summoner build specifically, the Necromancer can summon an army full of the undead that can blast through all Acts of the main campaign and keep you safe and sound at the back.

Sure, some classes can tank bosses with ease on their own, but the Necromancer can have a golem do the dirty work whilst blasting necrotic spells from behind a wall of 12 skeletons. Can your Barbarian do that? I thought not. The Necromancer has another powerful build if you’d prefer a more engaging form of gameplay: the Poison Nova build. With this specific build, you can inflict poison upon your enemies that wear their health down over time.

Once your foe has succumbed to your poisonous attacks, you can cast Corpse Explosion to inflict massive area damage on their allies. The only major downside to this build is the lack of corpses to explode in boss fights, however, Poison Nova and high enough Vitality, or a golem to tank, should be more than enough to melt down the hardest of demons.

Which Class is the Best for Multiplayer in Diablo 2: Resurrected?

The Paladin is arguably the best class for multiplayer in Diablo 2: Resurrected. His powerful auras aid allies and can result in devastating combinations that make content clearing and end-game tasks an absolute breeze.

The hammer build can easily clear packs of demons by throwing glowing, spinning hammers and can effectively deal with bosses at the end of dungeons, both in damage and defence. Focusing on hammer attacks allows for more flexibility for other abilities, meaning the player can focus on auras that complement their friends’ characters the best.
