Pokemon GO Water Festival Lapras With Scarf

Pokemon GO: How to Catch Scarf Lapras During Water Festival

Recommended Videos

The Water Festival event is back in Pokemon GO, and this year’s event features a Lapras Wearing a Scarf for players to catch and add to their collections. Along with this dapper-looking Lapras, the 2022 Water Festival event also marks the Pokemon GO debut for Dewpider and its evolution, Araquanid. Tapu Fini, the guardian deity of Poni Island, will also be making its Pokemon GO debut in Five-Star Raids to coincide with the new Poni Island Special Research launching on May 10. The Lapras is the highlight of the event, however, so here’s how to catch Lapras Wearing a Scarf in Pokemon GO.

How to Catch Lapras Wearing a Scarf in Pokemon GO

There are multiple ways to encounter Lapras Wearing a Scarf during the Water Festival event, but the main way to find one is in Three-Star Raids. The event will bring a new Water-themed lineup to Three-Star Raids with the following Pokemon included:

  • Alolan Raichu
  • Lapras Wearing a Scarf
  • Feraligatr
  • Azumarill
  • Ludicolo

If you manage to defeat Lapras Wearing a Scarf in a Raid battle, then you’ll have the opportunity to catch it and add it to your collection. It also has a chance to be shiny, so make sure you knock out as many Raids as possible before the event ends on Friday, May 20 to increase your chances of finding a shiny variant.

Outside of Three-Star Raids, a Lapras Wearing a Scarf encounter will also be rewarded for completing the event-specific Timed Research tasks available during the Water Festival. Completing the Timed Research will also reward you with 50-Gyarados Mega Energy, 1000 XP, 1000 Stardust, and a Dewpider encounter as well. The tasks will be centered around catching Pokemon, so it shouldn’t be too hard to get them done.

Completing Field Research Tasks during the Water Festival event can also reward players with a Lapras Wearing a Scarf encounter, but it’s a rare reward. Here’s the full list of possible encounters from Field Research Tasks:

  • Magikarp
  • Carvanha
  • Wailmer
  • Luvdisc
  • Binacle
  • Dewpider
  • Lapras Wearing a Scarf (Rare)
  • Marill (Rare)

Completing certain Field Research Tasks also has the possibility to reward Blastoise Mega Energy and Gyarados Mega Energy as well.
