NBA 2K13 dated for October 2nd, with Wii U version ‘later’

2K sports announced earlier today that the next edition of its best selling basketball title will arrive on October 2nd. NBA 2K13 will release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PSP, PC, and Wii simultaneously. Though 2K also claimed that a Wii U version will be “available at a later date.”

Fans who pre-order the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will get access to the “NBA All-Star content package”. Players can make their own Slam Dunk Contests, Three Point Shootouts, and Rising Star Challenges, all set in Houston, where the NBA All-Star Game is being held next year.

As for the Wii U version of the game, 2K did not reveal exactly when to expect the game. We’ll probably get a better idea when to expect it once Nintendo announces the release date for their next generation console.

Look for NBA 2K13 on October 2nd in North America and October 5th in Europe.
