The first Instinct you will receive is a group of quests that show you how to play the game as a goat. How to be a Goat Instinct in Goat Simulator 3
The How to be a Goat instinct has eight quests you must complete. These will teach you the game basics, from controlling your goat to accessing your menu. After completing a quest, you will get confirmation from the game as it is completed. Here is how you can complete each quest efficiently.
Do a Backflip
You must walk backward, press the jump key, and then hold down the trick rotation button. For instance, on PC, you will press space for the jump and then right mouse click for the trick rotation button. After that, you will automatically do a backflip. Look for the blue text at the bottom of your screen for confirmation.
Do a Triple Jump
You can perform a triple jump just like Mario. All you need to do is jump on a solid object three times in a row. After completing a triple jump, you will see the blue orbs underneath your feet. You can also store your jumps and pair them with other wardrobe items like wings. For instance, you can jump twice, use your wings to float to another area, and then jump a third time to activate it.
Pin an Instinct
To pin an Instinct, you need to access the menu, go to the Quests tab, the Instincts tab, and then click the push pin icon. This will pin the Instinct to the right of your screen for tracking purposes.
Reach Warp Speed While Grinding
Grinding is easy to traverse the environment quickly, as objects like power lines often span the entire zone. You will automatically reach warp speed when grinding on a wire or rail for a specific amount of time. All you need to do is grind and wait until your sparks turn blue. You will gain a burst of speed when this happens.
Equip Something in All Wardrobe slots
The wardrobe tab of the menu screen will let you see all of your equipped wardrobe items at once. You can either click on the list to the left or an individual picture to the right to be taken to a specific wardrobe spot.
Do an Emote
You need to access the emote menu by pressing the V or right directional button to do an emote. From there, you can pick whichever emote you want to do.
Do a 720 Double Front or Backflip
Doing a 720 double front or backflip is the most challenging quest for this Instinct, but it is easier once you know a few key things. First, all you need to do is do a triple jump to gain enough air. While in the air, you can activate the trick rotation and use the directional keys to rotate your goat horizontally and vertically. Second, you do not have to land the trick or get the perfect amount of rotations. Just do a triple jump, rotate both directions, and boom, you will have it completed.
Use Water to Extinguish Yourself
The location of the blue goat icon on this map is the best place to finish this quest. It is the dock with a bunch of dynamite on it. You will get the quest to fish naturally here as well. You must activate the dynamite by headbutting, stand within the blast radius, and then jump into the bond to extinguish yourself.
