Smoliv was one of the first Pokemon introduced to trainers alongside the starters, so players expected it to be one of the first species of Pokemon they would encounter within Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Luckily, players desperate to meet the sweet species of Smoliv will be able to do so due to the common nature of the Pokemon, which can be accessed incredibly early on in the game. However, due to the game’s open-world nature, locating Pokemon is as challenging as it is simple, especially if you’re not sure which province certain species spawn. Where to Find Smoliv in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Smoliv, alongside Pokemon like Pawmi, is one of the first Pokemon trainers you will probably encounter within the Paldean region due to the high spawn rate, so if you’re desperate to find one, fret not. Although they appear to dominate most of the southern region, the PokeDex states that Smoliv spawns predominantly in Area Two of the South Province. If you spend a lot of time within the southern province of Paldea, you will inevitably face an army of Smoliv and realize that the Pokemon isn’t in short supply. The common nature of the Pokemon means it’s incredibly easy to battle and defeat, so you’ll be able to level up your party while collecting numbers for your Pokedex.

However, once you have caught a Smoliv and kept it in your party throughout the starting area and potentially the first gym, depending on which storyline you follow during your time with the game, you’ll be able to unlock its evolutions, Dolliv and Arboliva. So, even though Smoliv doesn’t look like much when you first encounter one, you may appreciate it for its strong evolutions later down the line.
