Country star Brad Paisley just turned 53, and the birthday gift he requested from his wife is raising eyebrows

Man of culture, gotta say!

Brad Paisley just had his 53rd birthday on Tuesday, October 28, and what he asked for as a gift is pretty surprising. The country singer is famous for his music and live shows, but people are now talking about something completely different.

His wife, Kimberly Williams-Paisley, who is 54 and acted in Father of the Bride, shared the story on Instagram a few days later. She put up a post that showed what each of them wanted for their birthdays. One picture had her sitting in a cold plunge with words saying “what she asked for her birthday.” Then there was another picture showing what Brad wanted.

According to People, Brad asked for a giant dragon statue that stands 8 feet tall and costs $199.98. When you see the two birthday requests side by side, you can really tell how different they are. His wife wrote in her post that the dragon was at home waiting for him.

This birthday gift really shows their fun dynamic

Brad’s birthday came at a pretty cool time this year. The night before he turned 53, he sang the National Anthem at a World Series game. The Los Angeles Dodgers were playing against the Toronto Blue Jays at their home stadium.

Kimberly made a funny post about it all, saying, “Happy birthday to the guy who somehow made the @dodgers play 18 innings last night!” She also told him she loved him and reminded him about the dragon. The playful way they joke with each other shows the kind of humor that makes celebrity relationships work, much like how Jon Bernthal roasted Ben Affleck’s dancing skills on set.

She was making a joke about something pretty wild that keeps happening with Brad. This was the fourth time he has sung at a World Series game, and every single time, the game goes way longer than normal. Back in 2017, the game went 11 innings after he sang. In 2018, it was 18 innings. Earlier in 2024, it was 10 innings. And on Monday night, it went 18 innings again.

His wife even left a comment joking around, asking if it was his fault that the game lasted so long. She also said it was nice that the Dodgers won on his birthday. Celebrity birthdays often come with unique stories, similar to how Clint Eastwood recently set the record straight about a fake interview.

Brad and Kimberly have been married for more than 20 years now. They first met back in 2001 when Brad asked her to be in one of his music videos for a song called I’m Gonna Miss Her. He had liked her ever since he saw her in Father of the Bride in 1991.

They started dating, got engaged in 2002, and got married the year after that. Now they have two boys named William “Huck” Huckleberry and Jasper Warren. The big dragon statue is now part of their home as Brad’s birthday gift.
