For fans of games that will quickly rip your heart out and make you feel more emotions than you thought you could, The Last Of Us was a master at its craft. As we near the 10th anniversary of its original release, PlayStation 5 owners, as well as PC players are in for a treat with The Last Of Us Part 1.

What makes this game special compared to the original, and what can players expect as they dive into this game? Let’s take a look and find out what is all changed with this newly rebuilt title.

The Last Of Us Part 1 Release Date

If you’re looking to cry tears that are in even higher fidelity than ever before, you’ll be able to do so when the game releases on September 2nd, 2022 for PlayStation 5 and at a later date on PC. This marks the first time that this Naughty Dog-created series has made its debut on anything besides a PlayStation system, so more players will be able to experience this amazing story.

What Do We Know About The Last Of Us Part 1

While The Last Of Us was a groundbreaking title back in the day, there are some parts of the game that haven’t aged as gracefully as its story. Thankfully, those that are looking to make their way back into the world once more, or those joining along for the first time will be able to experience this game in a whole new light, as it is being completely rebuilt from the ground up. They are also working on adding a new engine for the AI foes and companions, as well as keeping as many things faithful to the original game as possible, such as facial animations and voice acting.

Players that are looking to embark on this quest with Joel and Ellie don’t have long to wait to see their favorite game brought into a new light, and although there was a Remaster for the PlayStation 4, this is going to essentially be a brand new title, since they are rebuilding everything from scratch to make sure that it takes proper advantage of the PlayStation 5 hardware.

Those that are looking to scratch that itch for more worldbuilding in this epic landscape, you’ll be pleased to know that the HBO adaptation is coming along smoothly, and you’ll be able to see and hear original actors from the game in the show, as well. It should be interesting to see them bring this world to life, as well as what else we may have in store for the franchise.

The Last Of Us Part 1 will be available September 2, 2022, for PlayStation 5, and at a later date for PC.
